Global Configurations Permission ?

I am getting very confused with all of the permission setting.
Do you know where a great source for that is ?


I',m not sure what to set them for Community builder, posting blogs, articles, eevents etc. All my sites should allow registered to post or add.
Please help me understand Public, registered and Admin obviously- plus the ones in between.
