Joomla 2.5.9 Banners Component not working - 500 error page

I updated to Joomla to 2.5.9
All of my banners were ok before update - now, when I click on the banner, it goes to a 500 error page (500 - View not found [name, type, prefix]: banners, html, bannersView). Everything in the back-end seems ok.

Does anyone know why, and how to fix this? I have disabled all my banners for the time being until this is fixed.

I am non-technical; so clear and simple is best for me - thanks

(i turned the ones back on, on the above page - but now they are not showing on my end - the first link shows a banner on the top right - don't know why I'm not seeing anything on the second)

I don't see any problem with your banners, I've clicked and all and they redirected me to different webpages.

this is really freaky - but good (I guess)
why do you suppose I got the 500 error page?
I just checked too - it's working now - but it hadn't for days!

I'm glad it works!
I can't give you a straight answer at your question, can be a lot of reason to get that error page.
Let's hope it won't happen again

Can you let me know if you have done any modification to your website since yesterday?

No - nothing at all (other than turning on and off the banners)

ps - I have to leave for about 1-1/2 hrs.

Can you let me know from which version you have updated? you said this appeared after the update.

I'm sure it must have been 2.5.7 - I always keep it updated when there is one.

Go to Global Configuration in back-end - Server - Error Reporting and set it to Maximum. Let me know if when you click a banner any errors are displayed.

I just did as you said - set error reporting to maximum.
Tried the image banner links - and now they are working again.
I just don't get what's happed/happening!!!

Unrelated -
I did notice my date displayed at the top of my pages showed this error -

Notice: Undefined offset: 3 in /home/capecods/public_html/modules/mod_date2/helper.php on line 974
(don't know what that means)
it's nice having the date, but not necessary - it's the banners I need to work properly, but it seems so unpredictable

can everyone see the error notice or just me?

You can go back and change the error reporting to default. I don't think is any relation between that notice and your issue, you can let that. Check also on your server if you have any error log file and attach here in case.
