Super Admin can't log in.

I have just revisited a 2.5 site that I set up a few weeks ago and I cannot log-in using either of the super admin accounts I set-up. I had to junk the site previously because of the same problem so I was extra careful to keep the passwords. Looks like I will have to flatten this one and start again. What is going on?

Edit: Now it has logged me in.

Now I have set-up a new Joomla 2.16 install using Fasthosts' One-click installer and I can't log-in despite having been emailed the user details. I give up.
