Problem with article hits counter

I have a Joomla 2.5 site and the article hits counter is not working properly in the backend.
What is the reason for that?
I don't have enabled the cache.

What do you mean by not working properly? Is it over-recording hits? Is it under-recording hits?

It was under-recording hits. But now it's ok.
The problem was a plugin for facebook comments called "AL Facebook Comments Box".
Unfortunately I disabled this plugin but now I have an article hits counter without problems!
