Cannot Open Page on Site Using Article Alias

Post by jgraves » Thu Jan 15, 2015 2:56 pm

I have one article that I cannot use the article alias to open on my site. All other articles I can link to using mysite.org/articlealias. Trying to use that with a new article, I get the 404 Article Not Found error. When I browse to it in Joomla and use the link it creates, I get this gigantic link: http://michiganbluebirds.org/component/ ... 0-festival

The article is active, all article options are the same as for articles that work with the short link. I am currently running Joomla 2.5.18. I appreciate any and all suggestions as to how to get the preferred link to work.

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure that the parent category of the article is published? Check that and check that you have no rules in your .htaccess file or in your SEF extension (if you're using one) that are affecting the link.

If I turn off Joomla's SEF, yes it will working using mysite.org/alias.
The Parent Category is published. I am not familiar enough with the httaccess file to answer the question regarding that. So I am hoping the fact that it works with SEF turned off will allow someone to give me some suggestion as to what the problem is.

Thanks again.
