Hi,
It is possible to upgrade Joomla 1.5 to 2.5.
So if you have upgraded to Joomla 1.5 using the instructions in your link, you can go on from there.
Good luck!

You shouldn't upgrade. The coding is different too much from 1.0.11 to 2.5.11. The core can work well but the components, modules, plugin will not work. If I were you I would develop another site in joomla 3.x

If you have a site with dozens, hundreds or thousands of articles the migration is worthwhile for sure and only a 2-step: Joomla 1.x to J 1.5 with the migrator and followed by a migration to Joomla 3.x with SP Upgrade.jlhostdir wrote:You shouldn't upgrade. Also rest assured that we still are able to migrate many extensions that are now available still from 1.x to 2.5/3.x and these migration methods are often well documented at the developer websites. Community Builder for instance is all the way upwards compatible from Joomla 1.0 so it depends entirely from what needs to be migrated and availability. Simple stating "Start over" without solid foundation to such statement is imho not a solid advise?

Uhhhhh
Hold on Martin...Can you please explain to me (I like to learn something new every day!) how you 'upgraded" a Joomla 1.0 site to Joomla 2.5 site without a migration from J1.0 to J 1.5???? That would be a first one for sure ?

Re: upgrade Joomla 1.0.11 to 2.5.11
I have to upgrade my website from Joomla 1.0.12 to Joomla 2.5 or higher. What will I lose in this migration?
It is my understanding that I have to download a migration tool to get my site to Joomla 1.5 and then migrate to Joomla 2.5. After this migration, will my website continue to be functional or will I have to redo many of the pages.
I have a very short time to do this migration and I need to keep my website operational.
Any information will be greatly appreciated
Tina

Re: upgrade Joomla 1.0.11 to 2.5.11
Migration to 1.0 to 1.5 can be done using a standard processs, this is correct, it's also pretty straightforward and has little problems post migration. The process is described here: http://docs.joomla.org/J1.5:Migrating_f ... 1.5_Stable
The real issue is migrating 1.5 to 2.5, which can be quite challenging since the data structure is completely different and the various migration tools are buggy (to say the least), and they only migrate the content. You might have many extensions that are no longer supported or no longer exist, you will need to migrate those manually. You will also need to migrate the template.

Re: upgrade Joomla 1.0.11 to 2.5.11
Hey,
I am pretty new to Joomla and have been given an really old site on Joomla 1.0.15 which now has to be upgraded.
I installed the Migrator component as described and tryed to follow the Instructions on docs.joomla.org.
But in step 2 it is said you have to install an Migrator Plugin.
As the link is a deadlink too and my search in the Plugindatabase turned out failing, where can I get an Migrator Plugin for 1.0.15? Only ones I found are above 1.5
