security on joomla 1.7.2

Joomla versions 2.5, 1.7 and 1.6 are all end-of-life since December 31st 2014 and are no longer supported. Please use Joomla 3.x instead.

security on joomla 1.7.2

hi I have a site running on 1.7.2 how can I be sure that it is not vulnerable? thanks

I guess the obvious answer is to upgrade to the latest version. 3.3.3 is the latest but next week we are likely to get 3.3.4.

i can't there is a lot of custom code that made the upgrade impossible, so I need to secure it on this version, do you advise me to de a new site or it is safe to keep the website with this version? thanks

Mod. Note: Relocated the topic from 1.5 to the 2.5 forum

There where a 1.7.4 version, but that one is also vulnerable.

Upgrade to 2.5.24 first.

You should do overrides and not hack core files.
