Upgrade from Joomla 1.0 to 2.5

Joomla versions 2.5, 1.7 and 1.6 are all end-of-life since December 31st 2014 and are no longer supported. Please use Joomla 3.x instead.

Upgrade from Joomla 1.0 to 2.5

I have been running Joomla 1.0 on a website for several years. The host just migrated my site to a new server, and now some things no longer work. The host says that I should upgrade to Joomla 2.5.

What do I need to do to upgrade the site to Joomla 2.5, and what kind of problems will I face?

Honestly from Joomla 1.0, you will probably have to copy/paste over your content manually.

2.5 is also "end of life" so think about migration to 3.x version. Maybe this can help to see what kind of problems wait for you:

so you can make decision.
For small site and little content better and faster is to make new site.
For big site with many content worth to try migration.
