Hi,

I've upgraded my site to 2.5 and the Navigation Links (next, previous) is not appearing in articles. I've checked and "Show Navigation" is turned on in Article Manager Options.

Any ideas what's going on? Is there a setting somewhere else?

Cheers,

I've got round it by installing the Page Navigation With Titles extension:
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/structure-a-navigation/site-navigation/15675
Can't get the original one to appear though.

Same here ... I just upgraded from 1.7.3 to 2.5 and all navigation links are gone. I tried changing the options globally or for a category, but no effect - the links are gone.

Also, the menu "Categoryblog" behaves wild ... for one categorie, it shows all articles, for another one only the first one without the navigation links.

The template I was using was made for 1.7.3. The template was updated for 2.5 and now my navigation buttons are back.

Ok I found the solution. It's an issue in Joomla 2.5 <Content - Page Navigation> plugin.
What I've no done is replace the Joomla 2.5 folder:
yoursite/plugins/content/pagenavigation
with an old Joomla 1.7 pagenavigation folder.

I haven't yet compared the pagenavigation plugin code but I'm sure someone cleverer than me will come up with an answer.

At least in the meantime this is a solution.

Here is a solution:
1. Check if your template has an updated version for Joomla 2.5. After you install it, the navigation links will be shown again.
2. If there is no such version, you should fix the template yourself. Try to replace the file
Code:
\templates\<template name>\html\com_content\article\default.php

with another one from a default template:
Code:
\templates\beez5\html\com_content\article\default.php

3. The method above will work fine in most cases. Rarely you may loose some decoration styles. Then compare changes in beez5's "default.php" from 1.7 to 2.5 and transfer them manually to your template.

Don't forget to clear cache to see results!

This might work for some people but not me. When I replace the default.php file it creates all sorts of unwanted changes to the articles. It did however bring back the pagenav buttons.

Navigation links not appearing seems to be an issue with YooThemes templates. There is a whole thread on the YooThemes forum, with promised fixes. This was last July (2012) and I just downloaded the template last week. Still no navigation.

So is it just YooThemes or is this a problem with other templates?
