Can't modify articles after upgrade to 2.5
Upgraded to 2.5 and now every time I try to change the category an article is assigned to I get the following message: Save failed with the following error: Article must have some content.
I have tried this with both FF and Chrome, with both JCE and TinyMCE and get the same message. I have tried deleting the existing content and pasting it back to no avail. Cache is turned off.
Somebody once told me "never install software that ends in .0", guess I should have listened ;-)

Same here.
Upgrade from 1.7.4
I had to fix the dabase 33 errors, but now I can't modify any article, it keeps saying that it is empty after it erase the content.

Re: Can't modify articles after upgrade to 2.5
The FILTER is back !!
In fact it has change its location. Rather than checking the filter options in the article manager page options, you now have to get it in the Site / Global Configuration / Text Filters.
Then select "No filtering" for the Super admin, if that's you want.
I was trying to insert a table in an article.
This has fixed my problem, but not all of them;
- Joomla 2.5 keeps on appearing in the Joomla updates
- I can't select neither this update to update nor an article to trash, the system tells me I have to select it first when I try to apply the desired procedure.
- my language selector doesn't appear yet, but I guess it's a misconfiguration...
So no big bugs for me, but waiting 2.5.1 for my other installations

Addendum
Use a standard Template because sometimes a custom Template on the front end adversely effects Admin.

Re: Can't modify articles after upgrade to 2.5
Sorry
I have a site that I have completed the advised steps
and have what is said to be a valid upgrade after doing the discover.
I can't delete articles.
Duplicate articles showing in the front. I was able to fix some but 1 I tried to delete and now it won't go away. In smart search it is listed but its not there in article manager.
I have both a main menu and top menu.
They both are sent to global but they both display differently.
mobileonline.org
Also I installed the new list plug-in and enabled it and could not make any changes or edits at all. I had to disable it to do that.
I can't figure anything out right now.

Re: Can't modify articles after upgrade to 2.5
Yes to both...
All changes are delayed. I looked at the tables in MYSql and it shows the changes but nothing on the web site. Then when I woke up after noon EST the changes were reflected. I just tried to unpublish a menu and move menu items to the top menu and nothing... The main menu is still there and nothing moved thus far 30 minutes and counting. News has an article showing 4 times.
I am editing to add. It seems that for some reason all changes are implemented, but this does not occur until hours later after checking a couple of sites. Global config... is having serious issues - menus are just not conforming to any changes thus far... I am waiting until later and timing the changes that I implemented to see the delay... Changes appear in the database.

I will try disabling the user profile plugin and let you know.
But, as far as the cache I have cleared all and tried it on the following
Microsoft IE, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox and it still took over 7 hours for the changes to take affect and the menu that has been unpublished still shows on some of the articles

Re: Can't modify articles after upgrade to 2.5
Hello everyone
I did the upgrade and everything was ok. I was able to add photos. One client I was finally able to login to the Jomsocial. Things going good.
However:
1. The banner component is not using the url that is set... rolls right to the front page.
2. The category blog - will not hold the order that I set. I looked at the global config and it is set by category order- even changed the order in the articles to make sure....Menu setting is set to "Global"
I am stumped. Liking the new crisp look and added functionality, but its a learning curve for sure.

No, I am not. I use Artiseer and I will be trying the recent upgrade that they released. It is installing now, so I am sorry for any problems that I have caused.

Re: Can't modify articles after upgrade to 2.5
I changed the template to the standard and now the same banner in two spots across the bottom and neither go to the correct page - "404 error...
Also I still have a delay in when my changes implement. The change to the article blog order has finally occurred.

Is it shared or dedicated Hosting ?
Could it be a server setting causing the problem ?

Re: Can't modify articles after upgrade to 2.5
Hello I guess now I am not understanding. I have been using Joomla since 2006 and thought I was decent, at making the needed and required changes. Never have I experienced these type of difference variation of issues with an upgrade. I can't change templates, update content. If it was everything I would say yes. As far as shared hosting; I am a reseller and have been, so I have a little more leverage in what I can do or have done. Since I have several clients that I update the same things are not happening to all of them in the same exact process.
FYI; the banner component is displaying in both position 11 and 12 the same banner ... but in the administration area only one has a link to that particular graphic; so how does shared hosting come in to play with this?

I really did it; I was not paying attention and went in to delete the 2.5.1 module provided before the patch because had two of them showing in the footer and deleted all my modules
