Hi there!

I have to migrate an entire site from a .NET CMS - to a new Joomla 2.5 installation.

The site content is immense. SO many pages, articles and content!

It would take forever to start copy/pasting everything by hand.

I guess I may have to create a script of some sort, to read all the data from the .NET database (a dump), - and then insert it in Joomlas database. :-(

But how would YOU deal with this?

Or does anyone outthere know of cool software or scripts that deals with this sort of thing?

Thanks
John

As far as I can think a script is going to be the only way.

You do not mention what the current format is (IIS MS SQL I assume) or future server format is going to be whether IIS/MS SQL/PHP or Apache/MySQL/PHP but I would imagine if the former then it would be less complex an issue and in an area of expertise you already have, but it is likely to still be a very, very significant task, and very thorough planning is going to be the key.

Personally I do not know of any scripts for this but Google is your friend ;)

Thanks Andy.

Yes, I do realize this is going to be a major task. :-)

Just in case anybody with specific experience is following:
The site is from Microsoft Content Management Server 2002
And moving to Joomla 2.5, Apache/MySQL/PHP

Going to move this over to the Migration forum as you may get some more specific help there.
Best of luck

Hi, we have to check how is your existing file structure in .Net then we will make the CMS porting accordingly with minimum tweaking as possible.
Thanks
