I have successfully downloaded the WAMPserver (32-bit) to my WIndows XP computer. I am a Joomla Junkie and have used their CMS for 5 yrs now. With the move to Joomla 2.5 I am needing to upgrade eight (8) sites from 1.5.26 to the new version (2.5) Is there anyway for me to place all the websites under ONE Joomla 2.5 applic. with seperate folders on the WAMP server??? Will it allow me to do this?? Reason I am asking is because I want fix all the sites on localhost first to be sure everything works, i.e, right component upgrades and either use of JUpgrade or SUpgrade before moving the site live. I have already backed up all my sites. Let me know. Thanks!

Yes, could install multiple Joomla! sites on WAMP Server.

For each of the site, create a new directory under the directory \www. In each of the directory you could install corresponding versions of Joomla! or copy the site files from the host.

The URL for the sites would be localhost\directory-name

Ok that makes sense to me. I am just wondering also if I need place the Joomla! 2.5 DIRECTLY in the root of the WAMP or make a folder for it seperately than place each individual site within a folder.

Example #1
i.e c:/localhost/mywebsite1 (this being Joomla! 2.5 in root by itself with my own Joomla! site folder)

Example #2
i.e.; c:/localhost/Joomla/mywebsite1 (Joomla! 2.5 has own folder and my website folder set up within Joomla)

Which is more preferable and easier in regards to moving to live server after being sure all changes are
done after migration has taken place???

you would add the files to c:/wampserver/www/joomlasite1 (2.3.4.5)

Each site would need its own installation of Joomla! 2.5.x

You would then call the sites by http://localhost/joomlasite1 (2.3.4.5)

You are seemingly mixing the two up.

If you specifically want multiple sites to share the content in a database between all of them you will need an extension, but as you already have the sites created under J 1.5 with their own content you will need to upgrade them individually.
