:'( I upgrade to joomla 2.5.6.

Using tynimce to edit an article, request to img or link popup doesn't work anymore (popup layout is displayed but content is full grey - nothing is edited).

Any idea?

Assuming you are using the Advanced/Extended option in TinyMCE settings:
  1. BACKUP your site - if you have not already (which you should already have done!).
  2. Download a copy of the Joomla Full Stable Package for 2.5.6
  3. Open this archive locally.
    • If on Windows do not use M$ own archive manager - download and install 7-Zip.
  4. Locate the plugins/editors-xtd directory.
  5. Using an FTP client
    • Again if you are on Windows do not use M$ own software - download and install either WinSCP or FileZilla.
    • Ensure the Default Transfer File Type is set either to Auto or Binary.
  6. Select and Upload the /editors-xtd/ directory & files to the host joomla_root/plugins/ directory (where the /editors-xtd directory is already located).
  7. Overwrite the files that are already there YOU MUST KEEP THE SAME FILE HIERARCHY
  8. Once you have access to the Admin Back-end of Joomla:
    1. OPEN the Extensions=>Extension Manager->Database tab.
    2. CLICK the Fix button.
If all has gone as intended then you should now have full access to your TinyMCE Editor and its functions in both the front and back end.

sorry for late answer, I was over due to bunch of work to finalize.
I apply the process you suggest and it work perfectly.

I am having the same issue with the image & page break button. I tried the above instructions by humvee but this didn't help. Does anyone have another suggestion? Appreciate the help.

Edit: just found a post here: viewtopic.php?f=625&t=726242

Will try the other suggestions (overwrite complete Joomla files) first and report back
