One of my sites is a Joomla 1.7 install. Had to re-upload certain files after a problem and somehow I "broke" it. My local files were obviously not synched with the remote files. Now I can't upgrade to 2.5 the normal way and was wondering is it possible to do a clean 2.5 install and somehow link to the current 1.7 based database as well?

Can someone point me in the right direction?
