Never found a way to get rid of code displayed by the component tag in a Joomla template in previous versions. I'm wondering if there is a way to turn it off in 2.5.
I've never seen any use for the way Joomla displays articles with frontpage/featured articles. So, previously, I used to use two templates - one with the component tag left in for the default template and one with the component tag stripped out for the home page. Is there an option to not display any code from the component tag using just one template in 2.5.

change the type of menu item that the "Home" menu item is from Article displays to something else or limit the article display options in the menu link to 0 (zero) so none show.
