Hello all
You would be glad to hear that we have modified an existing Bangla font to make it look better on screen. Boishakhi is known to be the best for screen, but it is not Unicode compliant. The font we have produced, called AponaLohit is comparable to Boishakhi and compliant to Unicode.

The preview of the font in action can be viewed at: http://www.joomla-bd.org/images/stories ... itdemo.png

It can be downloaded from: http://www.joomla-bd.org/component/opti ... 7/lang,en/

thanks

alamgir

Hi,

I put a Download link to the font. There is no problem in downloading, but is asking for the password while installing. I installed 3 / 4 without any problem.

Thanks

I am sorry but the zip file DOESNT have any password attached. I used 7-zip to create all the zip. You may need to use 7-zip for unzipping that.

hi ssdt

1. Avro is a keymapping software for Banlga input.

2. it ships with some bangla fonts. But these fonts are not created by them.

3. AponaLohit, the font of this thread is creation of Ekushey and myself. This is the best bangla unicode font for now.

Reading all of your posts, I am kind of having the feeling that you are talking something that you don't have much idea. This is not meant offensive, but we would appreciate good thoughtful discussion.

Ok first of all let me confess that I am a Joomla newbie. I downloaded the AlponaLohit font but when I opened it I foung english alphabets, is it OK. I have no problem in viewing the website and the joomla language works fine for me as well. However I would like to know how to write artcles in Bengali font like thatin the website. Is there any texteditor for doing this or can it be done ny MS Word? Please suggest me as I would certainly like to write some articles in Bengali as well for my website. Thanks in advance.

Hi Alamgir,

I wish to install and use bangla Joomla for a personal site. Is there any link/url, where there is a detailed instruction about how to download and install the full setup, along with the fonts?

no that shouldn't be necessary. those interested should have the font already.
