Post by Wootah » Thu Feb 23, 2012 6:06 am

Hi all,

Is there a good tutorial on creating forms through joomla? Not extensions but tutorials.

Thanks,

Mat

Well, you are not really looking for "A" tutorial, but more like 2 separate ones.

TUTORIAL #1: Basics of making joomla component
http://docs.joomla.org/Developing_a_Mod ... _-_Part_01
Just skim over the tutorial above, nothing intense and you don't need to fully understand it. Just know how to make a page that displays the contents of a component.

TUTORIAL #2: Creating Html Forms
http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_forms.asp

Hope this helps pal!

is it a good approach to simply output an HTML form? or should Jform be used? Is there a simple example of how to create a form without xml definition?
