I used ZenCart for my first site and have recently recreated it in Joomla 2.5. (really like joomla). Having trouble with the last part.....

I have been reading the forums, tutorials and everything on the net that talks about generating a PDF using PHP. The first version of the site used javascript to allow users to pull up a design, place text on the design, upload a jpeg image from their desktop and place on the design. The changed design was then saved as a PDF, then purchased. Adobe Acrobat Professional was used for postioning of the user generated text and this replaced using a library like TCPDF, FPDF, etc.

I have been trying to figure out how to recreate this on my joomla site. I have been practicing recreating this feature in an article. From what I have seen, PDFs can't be shown in an article, which is why i assume the PDF is not pulling up as all the scripts produce a blank page.

I haven't found a component or plugin in the Extensions Directory. Is there a script or part I am missing that can be incorporated to make this work? Or is a custom component going to need to be created? The code is all over the net. Getting it to work is the issue.

I would like to program it myself. From what I understand Joomla 2.5 incorporates TCPDF. Again, just looking for some feedback or advice from the community that has done this on the best way to do it.

The best way, is to do it yor own. You have to understand yourself how yo have coded some things. Otherwise you will get huge problems when upgrading your scripts again.I have added FPDF to my own component and made a class to write PDF's on the fly.

As of J1.6 TCPDF was dropped from the distribution. Haven't found it in J2.5. What makes you think it is part of J2.5?
