design po yan ng template na ginamit ko... there's no way i could modify the image or links to make it bigger, because doing so will break the coding margins etc. hehheheh. and i find it simple.. cheers

You can easily edit the template sa source nya na zip, just decompress it then edit the images and/or the html files depende sa need nyo.

since wala akong copy nung files mo, i would be just relying on my developer tools.... sana lang tama ako...
Here goes nothing:
On your templates folder (ja_antares/css/) may templates_css.css dun, search mo itong part na ito at edit mo ung red colored text...
#ja-topnav ul#mainlevel-nav a {
color:#FFFFFF;
display:block;
float:right;
padding:0pt 12px;
text-decoration:none;
text-transform:uppercase;
}
... into left, so ung line na un ay magiging:
float:left;
hope that's correct. it would really be easier if i had the same theme, pero im hoping i have helped!

Re: public education website
I was a little surprised to see the blond girl blowing me a kiss and asking
if I have girlfirend - type ad on opening page. THere was a long delay
with the very top opening banner when I went from page to page.
These ads gave site a lot of white space and delay between page viewings.
The header banner, girlfriend banner and Blue Host banner took
up entire page and I had to scroll to actually get any useful
information. All the advertising makes it look more like a commercial
site than an educational site.
The several banners on each page is distracting. As a design idea, you may consider
having them appear on only a few sections rather than on every page
on the site. You have the banners show up after the main menu, so
they end up taking up valuable viewing space for content.

Re: public education website
I agree ultimoAdios, that a site governmental or otherwise, is certainly
free ( at least in some countries) to do what they want on a website.
Still, in the US and many other countrie, the public perception would be
that this is bit of a conflict of interest. I know several chamber of commerce organizations
that use this type of thing as a revenue source, but not to that
extent.
Since this is in the Site Showcase forum, I would thing that the
designer wants feedback on design and layout. The main problem with
the ads, as far as design goes, is that there are several top banners
that take up a lot of viewing space. The idea of having a lot
of ads on a municipal site is more of a social issue, rather than
a Joomla Site Showcase topic

Hi there cool_iceman,
you can now delete the ultimoAdios quoted part of your post because it is no longer applicable at this time.
Just a little suggestion: I should change the ad image (footer part) relevant to education would be much better.
Well, you handled my comment with style and i salute you for that... You really do come in Peace!

Re: public education website
Wow! What a nice improvement over your early efforts. It is starting to feel
like a major EDUCATIONAL site and providing a good portal for other information
about other related educational resources!
One comment regarding Accomplishments, you may want to consider
using the blog style on listing that category, rather than just listing the
link as you do now. It seems a little lacking to click a page and see just
the links. Maybe have an short intro text and "read more...." for each
category article, thus enticing others to read on and open content
for viewing one layer earlier. (This is a problem I run into when making
sites usign Joomla.)
Also, see latest news and popular at the top right and left on every page
isn't that attractive. You have some wonderful links down lower and you may
want to push up higher for better navigational viewing.
The Google Search could be put in the upper top of the page, giving
you more room for content. You could fit it right up there in the upper
right next to the header, thus creating room for better viewing of content.
All in all, the site is starting to look first class and and shows the
edge of professionalism and that of an educational institution.
Bravo!

Re: public education website
Suggestion ko bay!
Sa main page mo, medyo mahaba sya masyado try to display 3-4 front page items.
Main goal is to minimize scrolling down. Try to check your front page component to tweak the number of news to be displayed.
And on the menu I think you should decide kung alin sa dalawa ang pipiliin mo. Kasi paulit ulit ang menu items mo.
It's either horizontal menu or the vertical menu which is on the left. [ i prefer the left column vertical menu]
Pahabol pa! try to tweak the colours of events calendar and the icons as well so it will blend with the template you are using.
Yun lang po kabayan!
Personal comment ko lang po ito...
