Dear all,

consider the following diagram:

- News [articles category]
|-News Article 1[registered]
|-News Article 2[public]

I have a menu item called News [public] set to show "Articles » Category Blog" view of News [articles category]

when public users browse the site and click on the menu item "News" they can see News Article 1 and News Article 2!! is there any way to make this "Articles » Category Blog" respect permissions and only show public news articles?

I hope someone can help with this! even if its an extension or code edit. I'd be happy to fix this issue.

Problem (apparently) solved,
I think it has to do with some of the (apparently unrelated) setting of the category blog or some caching. (i'm not an expert and i just speak out of trial and error experience)

what i had was the original default page set as display of featured article, i changed it to category blog and all the article were displayed disregarding of permissions. Playing around I realized that in the category listing they were not displayed, therefore the problem was somehow related to the category blog itself.
i recreated it as new menu item and the new one was working properly.
(the original one still not working).

so i went to the Mysql database and copied the parameter field of the new (working) menuitem in the old menuitem and now also the old works.

in the process i also cleaned the cache.

another thing to keep in mind is that if you log in as superuser, no matter what is the access level you will see everything anyway!
