Hi, Whilst trying to login to my joomla 2.5 administrator account, I entered a user account and password (with super user rights) - but instead of login to the standard back end icons/ facility,It shows me a blank page.

To make things worse, it says 'logout' on the top right, but doesn't log me out when pressed.

The user was a secondary super-user account.

Front end works fine, but I am unable to log into the back end at all!
And as there's no login form, I feel completely useless to administrate my site. How do I reset this?
Not sure what section of phpMyAdmin or config.php is required to be reset - I may be way off the mark, but suspect it's an ACL problem.

See attachment

I thank you in advance for your help and speedy reply.

Kind regards

Hello mate,

Well its really wierd because when i enter your admin link i saw the same thing like i was logged in. Try check your ftplog and see if any files have been modified, and especially if you have a backup , try restore it!

Many thanks for your speedy response.

I only just put the site up, so didn't get round to the back up yet using Akeeba.

If you have any other suggestions, I am all ears.

Once again, thank you.

Hello again mate,

Well as it seems for a reason there must be a problem with the sessions of your Joomla! Back-end, you can try do the following:

    1) Delete your browser's cookies and cache
    2) Using phpMyAdmin -or a similar tool- find your jos_session table. Please note that the jos_ part of the name may be something completely different on your site, e.g. aiwn_. This part is called the "table name prefix" and it's easy to spot: it's the common beginning of all of your Joomla! tables' names.
    3) Empty the contents of the jos_session table. DO NOT DELETE THE TABLE, only its contents.
    4) Retry to login. If the problem was due to this bug you will be able to log in now.

Well mate, too bad it wasn't fixed but as you said, you just got the site up , so its better to uninstall and reinstall it again, it will take your more time to fix this than rebuild it again...

MrCodexCY, It seems two other people are having the same problem, myself and Budhart59,

My Post - viewtopic.php?f=622&t=720677
Budhart59's Post - viewtopic.php?f=624&t=720850

Is this seemingly becoming a trend in the last 48 hours?

I also tried deleting everything in the jos_sessions table, (Not the table itself), unfortunately it did not help.

Thanks.

I found something new mate, try the following:

It sounds like it's related to the following bug:
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/joomla ... m_id=28354

If so, once your cookie clears you'll be able to get in. Do you remember what your "Session Lifetime" is set to in your global configuration?

If you really need to get in right away, then make a backup of administrator/includes/helper.php and change:

Code:
if (!$user->authorise('core.login.admin')) {

to
Code:
if (($user->get('guest')) || !$user->authorise('core.login.admin')) {

Hopefully this will fix your problem,
~Artemis
