How to edit an article from the front end?

Hi all!

I am trying to set up a user group that has access to create articles then edit and delete their own articles only for a specific category from the front end. I have it working for a user to create the article but I have two problems:

• When the user saves the article, it saves as unpublished
  I can' see how to create a link for the user to go back and edit their article

To the former, there is currently no option which exposes the Publish option to the front end. Many people are under the impression this is supposed to be available if you choose the Change State permission... only time and revisions will tell.

For both of your questions, the answer would seem to be, "seek out an extension which provides these functionalities." The categories you're looking for are probably related to Articles and/or Content, at the JED.

Provided the user is in a group that has 'Edit' permissions then 'Edit State' allows them to Publish and UnPublish any Article ... even those created by super admin

If the user is in a group that has 'Edit Own' permissions then 'Edit State' only allows them to Publish and UnPublish Articles they create.
