Child Not Seeing Content: Marked incorrectly?

I have a parent group called "Employees" and it has a child group called "Division Employee." I want "Division Employee" to see some articles that general people in the parent "Employees" group cannot see.

I setup a new Access Level called "Locked" and ticked the "Division Employee," but not the parent "Employees."

I set an article Access to that "Locked" level. "Division Employee" cannot see the article. Does "Division Employee" maybe need to be on the same level as its parent? Could it be inheriting the parent's not allowed permission somehow?

Grant Permission and do not deny. Is there a deny on Employees?

"Division Employee" will inherit from "Employees".

Thanks Per Yngve Berg. There was no deny on Employees. The posts and permissions started working as expected, without me changing anything. I don't know why. Thanks for your help.
