i need to know why my logo image looks ragged around the edges and how to fix it. I have tried changing the file type from a jpeg to a png and both have a ragged edge.
Thanks for any help on this.

Obviously this has nothing at all to do with Joomla.

Nonetheless, my first guess would be that the image width & height are set to higher values than the original image. To determine whether or not this might be the case, look at the original image (outside of Joomla), does it look like it's suppose to?

Also, it might be helpful if you provided a link to the page this logo is on.

The original image outside of Joomla looked fine. Since I couldn't figure out how or why the jagged edges were there I re-did the header image to include the logo. I like the way it looks now but wonder how this will affect SEO.

It shouldn't affect it at all, since search engines do not read the image itself (other than to display it in an image search). What's most important for SEO when we're talking about images is that alternate text, because that is how the search engine will describe your image to the world. Also, I noticed on your site that the image is actually being used as a background image, meaning it will not be read by search engines at all.

In a nutshell, your SEO will not be affected at all.
