How do I remove the search box from appearing on every page using on Joomla 2.5?

Location: on earth
Go to the back-end, Extensions -> Module Manager -> search for the "Search" module with "top" or "position-0" (depend on which template) as position, and click on the green check mark image to unpublish it. Search should be gone from the front-end.
