Joomla Documentation Team: International MediaWiki expert

Post by dextercowley » Sun Jun 05, 2011 3:25 am

Most of the official documentation on Joomla is contained in our wiki at http://docs.joomla.org. This uses the same MediaWiki software that powers Wikipedia and we currently host over 10,000 content pages together with over 1,500 images. The wiki also hosts the official help screens visible in the back-end of every Joomla installation.

We are looking for one or more volunteers who have experience of the installation and configuration of MediaWiki to help set up non-English wikis in parallel with and cross-referencing the English documentation wiki at http://docs.joomla.org.

Good knowledge of the installation and configuration of MediaWiki is required. If you're the sort of person who knows how to set up namespaces, manage bots and tweak htaccess rules, then we want to talk to you.

Must be able to work as part of a team and be comfortable working with people for whom English is not their first language. Extra brownie points if you have prior experience of setting up multi-language MediaWiki installations.

No Joomla knowledge required.

If you think you have what it takes to fulfill this challenging role then send an email to [email protected] and tell us about yourself.
