Re: Add a Signature?
This makes sense actually. You shouldn't be allowed to post here just for signatures and backlinks. God work about this.

Re: Add a Signature?
Ok, here is a strange one... and a note that I have 80+ posts.
I have recently created a new website, and if I change the weblink to my new url, http://reddirtstudio.com.au/, the link is truncated, see here:
http://reddirtstudio.com.au/
But the old url will work
http://vieweb.com.au/
Same happens in my signature
Any clues most appreciated

Hi,
This was due to an wordcensor which was menat for a different site but also caused your domain to be censored.
I have fixed this now.

Re: Add a Signature?
Unless people are being a bit "clever" (that is, they're faking it), recently I've noticed a few newbie forum users have signatures when they've had less than 5 posts. I can quote an example if anyone wants to take a look.pe7er wrote:Actually, the minimum number of posts has been increased to 25 recently...itoctopus wrote:You can only add a signature when you reach a certain number of posts. If I'm not mistaken that number is 10.
EDIT: Forget it. I had another look and these people are obviously faking it. Sorry for the intrusion; go on about your business. Nothing to see here.

Re: Add a Signature?
no, you have to post a suitable number of good quality posts that do not lead you to be branded a spammer or posting for points to reach the required level of posts at the time you wish to add you signature.jaribhai wrote:So I have to post x times before adding a signature :-O

Re: Add a Signature?
I'm new and this has the same questions, fortunately when I had found the answer to this problem ^^mcmike8 wrote:I see all of these people with cool signatures that show a little bit about them, but can not find how to add it on this forum!
I found this question on the FAQ section, but it is not helpful at all.
How do I add a signature to my post?
To add a signature to a post you must first create one via your User Control Panel. Once created, you can check the Attach a signature box on the posting form to add your signature. You can also add a signature by default to all your posts by checking the appropriate radio button in your profile. If you do so, you can still prevent a signature being added to individual posts by un-checking the add signature box within the posting form.
It says nothing about where to go in the User CP to add the signature... I looked in all the subheadings and could not find it. Can somebody help?

Signatures may not contain any images. The forum rules are available from http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=65

Re: Add a Signature?
I'm sorry to be resurrecting this zombie topic but I think, in the interests of fairness, I've based my understanding of the "rule" about forum signatures on the ad nauseam repeated "25 posts" statement.
Well, either there are people who are gaming the system or the 25-post qualification is just an urban myth because I've noticed a few people have apparently created valid forum signatures with less than 25 messages (no names, no pack drill, just stating an observed truth).

Re: Add a Signature?
It is not an urban myth and we cannot apply the rule retrospectively. Users who created their accounts in 2012 or 2008 had to post a much lower number of messages before they could create their signature in the control panel. The limit was increased when the spam problem grew.

Re: Signature problem
Actually most of the spammers participate in forum discussion and they create hyperlink through signature which is helpful to create backlinks in SEO, So may be this is the reason of not provided signature option.
