The link at the very top of the forum that says "if you are serious about getting help... blah blah" should definitely be updated to point to this post in my opinion!

Hi all,
I'm trying to use the JTS-post Assistant tool and I get stuck at the first page with an error :

.
When I try to run the assistant and security tool with IE i get this :
In french :
"La page XML ne peut pas être affichée
Impossible d'afficher l'entrée XML en utilisant la feuille de style XSL. Corrigez l'erreur, puis cliquez sur le bouton Actualiser ou essayez ultérieurement
Un seul élément de niveau supérieur est autorisé dans un document XML. Erreur de traintement de la ressource http://localhos...
<b>Notice</b> Constant JPATH_BASE already defined in <b>C:/wamp/www/mywebsite/jts-post.php</b>

I can translate it like this :
Cant show XML entry using the XSLstylesheet. Correct the error and click on update or try again later.
Only one element of higher level is authorized in an XML document. Treatment error of the ressource http://localhos...
<b>Notice</b> Constant JPATH_BASE already defined in <b>C:/wamp/www/mywebsite/jts-post.php</b>

I turned the notice off but I still get the messages and I can't find any answer in google or forums. I guesss I should debug this myself but it's too high level for me :s

please can somebody help me?

I have just tried this and note three things:

1. The instructions do not seem to mention anything about removing the file afterwards. Is it safe to leave it there?

2. It is still at "A" status. Is it intended to formally reveiw/publish it?

3. The output does not indicate if modules and plugins are enabled or not. Would it be possible to include this information?
Thanks for your time.

With the sort of information that JTSpost display's, NO, it is not a good idea to leave it available to unwanted eyes.

JTSpost is under regular updates, so effectively, it is "formally" released.

Yes, it would be possible to include this information, but at this time there are no plans to do this, Joomla Tools Suite covers a more comprehensive set of checks, but again, is currently under a re-write and no updates to the older release is planned.

Hi everyone,

Glad to be part of the Joomla community! I'm a Joomla newbie, less than 2 weeks old.

I'm trying to post an error, i've followed the instructions to upload the jts-post.php file to my /public_html/cms in my webhost because that is where i installed the Joomla files from.

After that i type in: http;//www.adimestijadi.com/cms/jts-post_en.php (on IE)

Result = HTTP 404 Not found.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!
Very Newbie

I'm having the same 404 issue described above but not seeing the fix. When I download JST it comes in as "jtspost_en.php" . Am I supposed to change it's name before uploading it to "jst-post.php" ? I've tried it both ways and get the 404 error. Also, is its permission supposed to 644 or something else?

Thanks in advance,

JTSpost file can be renamed to anything you want it to be, but using the name that it was downloaded as is just fine. Standard permissions of 644 are all thats needed.

Download the file to your computer
unpack it on your computer
FTP/copy the file to your server in a known location (normally just the "/" where Joomla! is installed EG: where you find the Joomla! index.php and configuration.php files.)
Open a browser, go to http://www.domain-name.com.au/jtspost_en.php (if Joomla! is installed in the root directory) or http://www.domain-name.com.au/directory ... ost_en.php , if in a sub-directory.

Okay, when I do that I just get a blank page -- no 404, no code in the "view source." If I view the file as text via my FTP client it looks like the file is there; so there's no problem with the transfer.

Any other culprits?

Does JTS-post work with Joomla 1.5.17? Also, does it only work with IE as a browser?

Weird, I just ran it on another site on the same server and it worked; however, i must shamefully admit that the site it's working on is Joomla! 1.5.8.

Does any of this effect JST functioning?

Yikes! It's next on the big list.

But this still doesn't solve my problem with JST on the 1.5.17 site. Are there any configuration issues that can stop it from working?

JTSpost should work quite happily with any J! 1.0, J! 1.5 and current development versions of J! 1.6

Try editing the following line in JTSpost and re-upload to the server, see if you are getting any PHP error messages.

1) un-comment the error_reporting at line 14 ( EG: remove the " // " double forward-slashes )

Code: Select all

	   error_reporting( E_ALL );
JTS-post should now report a number of messages (be aware, this is likely to mess up the formatting of the page, if it still doesn't white-page)

That bit wasn't commented in the copy I downloaded. The line above it was:

Code: Select all

error_reporting( E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE);

Where can I post my output?

May I put here?

Do I need to delete jts-post.php file after using it?

Thanks in advance.

Please read the previous posts and instructions here.

But in short, yes you should delete JTS-post after use, it presents some very useful information to anyone wishing to attempt to exploit your site or server.

No, you don't post your output here, as the instructions on the JTS-post screen state, you open your own post with a descriptive subject title, then copy and paste the output from JTS-post in there.
