Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes.

Hi, I get this message more and more when I use the search function of the forum. I know I can also use the google search, but in general i find the forum search results more useful. It's probably another sign of Joomla's popularity :), but it would be nice if this problem could be solved.

Regards, Tom

We're working on it.. That message is due to a 'fusebox'. If the server loads increase, the search goes offline to conserve resources.

I know it's an old topic, but I get this message 90% of the time I try to use the forums - 100% in the last week when I use the "View New Posts" link.

It makes it virtually impossible to be active in the community.

I understand... however, please bear with us, we're working on a long term solution to the increases in traffic we're seeing.

Starting this morning, I'm not able to perform any search. This message is all I see. 2 1/2 years is a long time to be working on a long term solution.

Please use the Google Custom Search Box in the header of all the forum pages to find the posts.

view your posts, view unanswered posts, and show user posts result in the same behavior.

If google is the answer, then these links should be removed.

There are some new problems for the last few days which are investigated. For normal searches the google function is usually quite useful. Sorry for the inconvenience.

lol jk thought it was funny. Probably an error with the forum or server. It is working again now though.

Yes possibly an error with the server but also perhaps a setting because of the number of posts allowed and that is adversely effecting the search. Perhaps it is taken off line for some reason. Also perhaps it is Browser related.

The only way to find out is make a post asking. This happens to me quite a lot recently and if the forum mods know the exact reason then would be good. But if it was Browser related then responses from other users may help pin it down.

BTW, which search were you using? The built-in forum one or the Google one up top?

Kind regards,
Nick

BTW it just happened again after my last post. I logged out closed the Browser then visited the site again and logged in. No problems then.

I'll assume the built-in one and keep an eye out for you and let you know if I can replicate the error message.

Kind regards,
Nick

I've seen it a few days ago but did not care at that time (used google instead)

Today I tried a few times to click on "Advanced Search" (search.php) link, at the righ ypper corner of webpages, in various forums getting:

Yes, there are a few problems with that function and other search functions on the forum.

There is no need to bump this post or topic. (bumping is against the forum rules ) We are fully aware of this error message and it happens to us as well. The issue is currently under investigation, however expect this message to come up quite a few times.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Olaf
