error message trying to post to old topic

I have been trying to post to http://forum.joomla.org/posting.php?mod ... 5&t=686483 last post dated Posted: Fri Oct 26, 2012 6:43 pm and get this.

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /posting.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I was/am logged in. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help.

That error indicates a mod_security block. Most likely certain words/symbols in you post triggered it. Could you perhaps check your intended reply for some obvious issues? Mod_security is designed to block the inserting of malicious/dangerous code into forum post as well as blocking common spam terms etc..

Thanks Brad, I assumed it must be something like that. What is odd is there was nothing in the post that had not already been posted elswehere on this forum. [There was conflicting advice about overwriting view.html.php] But it doesn't matter now; rcarey has supplied the answer.
p.s. tried surround bits in 'code' and 'quote' brackets but no dice.
