Is your .htaccess still there from before? From what version of Joomla did you update?

Are you using a custom Template with it's own menu module ?

If you modified a standard Joomla Template without copying and modifying the copy ... then your modifications could have been overwritten. If your modifications were not overwritten then they may be using code that does not match 3.3.6 (depending on the modifications).

Because of your lack of detail it is only guesswork at the moment as to what went wrong.
What Template are you using ?
What version did you update from ?
How did you update ?
Was the install a 'one click' install from your Host's CP ?
etc ?

i´m using my own template but it ´s based on "protostar". My problems is:

- Links change using "Search engine friendly" to http://www.midominio.es/joomla3/portada ... a-orquesta

And i don´t know why this strange link is created.i´ve got a 404 error.
- Second, the login link redirect to a worrng page insted of the page without SEO.
- Last error, when i press logout i´m redirected to www.midominio.es instead of www.midominio.es/joomla3.

if i send you a private link and administrator user, could you help me?

thank you in advance,

Borja

How did you base it on Protostar ? Did you make a copy and edit the copy or use Protostar as an example and built yours from scratch ?
borja wrote:...

No because its custom Template error and that may not be a quick fix. Chances are that you have got some code wrong.
Does the problem occur with Protostar as default ?
Does the problem occur with Beez3 as default ?

Don't hardcode urls, make sure htaccess.txt is renamed to .htaccess, make sure all sef and url rewrite options are set in the joomla admin section properly, make sure your using shipped .htaccess with Joomla.

Anything hard codes in HTML/PHP will not be changed, it's hard coded. Otherwise as joomla generates urls in PHP it will be dynamic and based on your settings in Joomla you'll get SEF urls appearing in your content.
I like working with Joomla :). I offer the following professional services: Custom extension development, SEO/marketing, maintenance/support, security and WCAG audits, and will work on websites at a reasonable rate.

If it happens with Beez3 then it is mostlikely a bad server setting ?
  1. How did you install Joomla originally?
  2. What version did you upgrade from ?
  3. How did you upgrade ?
  4. Is it in the root directory ?
  5. If it's in a sub directory do you define that directory as site root in the Host's CP ?
  6. In the .htaccess what did you change '#RewriteBase /' to ?
  7. Have you edited the livesite variable in the configuration.php ?

You have performed step #5 without the proceeding steps ? http://docs.joomla.org/Enabling_Search_ ... EF%29_URLs

How did you install Joomla originally?

--> Using the setup. i don´t remember but this work till the other day that i upday.
What version did you upgrade from ?
--> i don´t remember. it´s there any method?
How did you upgrade ?
-->copying the files. i download a zip and i copy it over the old files and i fix the database.
Is it in the root directory ?
--> not in "joomla3"
If it's in a sub directory do you define that directory as site root in the Host's CP ?
where?
In the .htaccess what did you change '#RewriteBase /' to ?
I put this RewriteBase /joomla3, but now it´s blank
Have you edited the livesite variable in the configuration.php ?

--> yes i did it yesterday as this: public $live_site = 'http://www.mydominio.es/joomla3';

respect to this question:

You have performed step #5 without the proceeding steps ? http://docs.joomla.org/Enabling_Search_ ... EF%29_URLs

i try to enable\disable the url rewriteing without success. it'strange because some links that are in the same menu change but others doesn´t change. One have the index.php and other not. the links that are worng doesn´t matter the the "url rewrite" paramter

what can be wrong? sth in the datebase?

using the fpa-en.php, the mod_rewrite is green, but the url rewrite doesn´t work.i try the example.

It appears like some of your links are hard coded
Possibly your custom Templates use the url without /index.php but mod_rewrite is not set up correctly or the server does not have it.

It appears that after updating that you may have edited Global config. You may have performed step #5 of http://docs.joomla.org/Enabling_Search_ ... EF%29_URLs but not the other steps.

Also check that the /tmp in your configuration.php file is correct.

I disable the artio sef plugins and now it's working properly with the "index.php" in the URL. That was the problem.
