3.4 Admin PROBLEM

Post by wolfspyryt » Wed Feb 25, 2015 6:36 pm

After update to 3.4, the Global Configuration Page in admin lost all formatting and the "Save, Cancel" buttons.

Did not help. It is ONLY the Global Configuration Page. All others I have checked are normal.

How about rebooting your machine to see if it clears up. sometimes these problems are temporary and restarting the machine clears them off.

The problem is that the CSS file is not loading so if this is fixed then everything is fine.

Same on my tablet, phone, laptop, and my brothers computer 1000 miles away. Must be a problem in joomla. Not my pc, browser, cache.

When viewing source, there are no calls for the css, as stated earlier.

Can I back track to the old version without a backup? This is riddled with other problems.

The problem is, the site is switched off, and other than going into database, I cannot switch back on. Any more ideas where this broke? I was supposed to turn this site on tonight and I can't finish testing. Any ideas are appreciated.

Fatal error: Class 'PDO' not found in /home/awearwatch/public_html/libraries/joomla/database/driver/pdomysql.php on line 102

I don like work arounds, but I found a workaround on another topic. Many people having same problem.

Yes, that's what I found. Would it be better to install the PDO Class rather than ignore it if it is not installed?

PDO is a PHP extension and not something installable through Joomla.

Excuse for my poor English I´m from spain.

For the backend: Go to your hosting and look for administrator/cache

Erase all folder except index

Works for me.

If you have the same problem in frontend go to cache folder and Erase all folder except index.

I had this same problem after upgrading. This worked perfectly for me. It needs to be incorporated into Joomla 3.4.....

It is in J3.4.1.
Issue with migrating? Include logs/joomla_update.php in your report!
Blank screen? Verify pagesource for HTML code (javascript error)
Installation failing on populating database? Install with set_time_limit(0)
Document your customizations!

Thanks Mob for posting this solution.
HOW TO FIX:
Source: https://github.com/mbabker/joomla-cms/c ... 818c99e4c2

NOTE: you may use Notepad or preferably NOTEPAD++ to edit the PHP file below.

OPEN: libraries/joomla/database/d river/pdomysql.php

FIND: around line: 102

Code: Select all
return in_array('mysql', PDO::getAvailableD rivers());

REPLACE WITH:

Code: Select all
return class_exists('PDO') && in_array('mysql', PDO::getAvailableD rivers());

@xfsgpr, I worry that your code if used with a space between the "D" and "rivers" to bypass the word in whole because of the word censor that is active in this forum, will cause the PHP file to either not work or generate errors.

Noobs may copy it the way it placed on your post and cause them issues. I think it would be safe for you to just remove it, and let the link I provided be the solution.

Thanks a lot Miguel: it worked for me too. I just wonder how you came to think of it. Greetings from Italy,

Have the same issue in ver 3.4.7. I have tried the solutions above but it did not help. Any suggestion?

This issue has been going on for many people over at least 14 months. All the clearing of cache, closing browsers, rebooting computers, restarting browsers and loading up the admin pages has made absolutely no change for one of my client websites. It started after I did an update from the 2.5 to the 3.x platform. I have tried multiple admin templates on Firefox, Chrome and IE but on everyone of them, the control panel is an unformatted page with no <html>, <head> or <body> tags at all. It is so strange that all other pages on the admin panel work just fine but not the control panel. If anyone has been able to resolve this issue with the lack of formatting on the control panel, I would certainly appreciate it.
