Blank Screen Joomla! 3.9.x

Hello everyone, today I was going to add an entry to the config that would allow you to recover your forgotten password. Unfortunately I made a mistake. I must have forgotten to put a } in the config and when I uploaded the config via FTP I got a white error page. Now I noticed the error and added the } at the end of the config again. The white error page disappeared, but now the whole site is white. Does anyone have any idea how I can proceed to fix this?

First of all, Joomla 3.9.8 may not be compatible with PHP 7.4 because Joomla 3.9.8 was released in June 2019 and PHP 7.4 only later, in November the same year. New PHP point releases like 7.4 remove functions that had been deprecated in previous versions. That is why the FPA report shows this:

It looks like the best option forward is to select an earlier version of PHP, if your host still has it available.

Check all the third party extensions from the Joomla Extensions Directory (JED) and also from the developers' websites because older extension do not comply with the Joomla! Update System and send notifications about updated versions.

If there are still issues like blank pages, turn on the option Debug System in the Global Configuration to get more detailed error messages that identify the script where the error occurs and the preceding function calls. Post those messages into your reply.

I don't know what you are referring to concerning the recovery of a forgotten password.

Joomla allows you to do that by default for normal users (such as in the Registered users group). The login form has the links for "forgot username" and "forgot password".

If you need to reset a super user password, you can't do that through Joomla and should use method 1 or method 2 outlined here: here: https://docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_reco ... assword%3F.

Can you confirm how/what you did to try and accomplish what you were trying to achieve?
