Error. Feed could not be retrieved.

The feed URL works in Joomla 1.5, but not in 3.0.3. Just get Error. Feed could not be retrieved.
I have looked for a couple hours at this and cannot figure it out.
Any suggestions?

Does anyone have experience working with the Joomla 3.0.3 newsfeeds component?

Well, I have used Feed display module in Joomla 3 and it does work. You just have to give appropriate URL of the feed under the "Basic options" tab. The feeds were retrieved just in seconds, worked like a charm.
