Menu item "list all categories" and "single article" at the same time?

Hello,

in my joomla website (version 3.6.2) I have a main menu with a menu item A which has submenu B.

Menu item A is type "list all categories", so when I hover over the menu item a submenu apears with subcategories. But when I click on the menu item A I land on a page with links to all subcategories. I want to land on a page without links appearing, but with only an article with description of the menu item category and an image. Is that possible and how?

I appreciate any help. (I also want to delete my first post but I don't know how). Thank you in advance.

Just change Menu item A to type Single Article.

Your submenu doesn't care what type Menu item A is. It simply displays the submenu items as defined in your menu.

Thank you very much, it seems it was so easy after all, just didn't know that the type in menu item A didn't have to do with submenu B.

I don't know what you mean by " description of the menu item category".

All Categories also have a Description Field. In this field you can type in text with an editor, just like in an article. With a Menu item of type Category Blog/List, you can enable this description to show and it will appear at the top before the articles Content/List
