Installation Stuck on "Creating database tables"

I am stuck on Joomla Installation for couple of hours and still cannot figure out what to do. I have already searched the forum here and tried many solutions and it doesnt work. Can someone help me please.

My Problem: When I install Joomla (versions 3.3 I downloaded only today), in the last screen it gets stuck in the loading screen under "Creating database tables".

These are the solutions I read from other forums on the same issue that I have tried and have not worked:

1) Increased php max_execution_time to 600 and it didint work. I then increased it to 3000 and it still didint work.

2) Opened "Root/installation/SQL/mysql/joomla.sql" and replaced all "ENGINE=InnoDB" with "ENGINE=MyIsam".

3) I installed in wamp and it seems to install fine but doesnt do it in live environment.

4) When I check the phpmyadmin, I can see that the database tables are created but the installation screen is still stuck showing loading bar next to "creating database table".

5) I checked the php and mysql version and they are not too old. PHP Version 5.4.20. MYSQL Version: 5.5.37

6) I checked the php error log and there is nothing there.

7) Increased PHP memory to 128M and still the same.

8. Change MySQLi to MySQL, no luck!

9) Just before it gets stuck, it shows an empty bar like line above "Installing..." heading and in the console the following Javascript error is showing:

I wonder if its the js error causing this issue and hanging in the last installation screen (not sure). I see many topics on this issue already over many years and still there is no 1 common solution. Some solution works for some and some dont. I have given the list I have tried and failed. Can someone help me on this please? I am loosing hair every minute over this.. Appreciate any help.

Ok I tried a few more things and still no luck. Here is a screen dump on what exactly is happening.

1 This is the installation screen. While it is creating the tables, during half way stage a system message 'alert' box appears at the top (with empty message) and as soon as this shows the installation hangs. See image here:

2) When the alert box shows (with no message) and when the installation hangs, the following error shows in console:

The same thing does not happen in wamp server. There are no php errors in server logs neither. Can someone please have a look and give me your suggestion please?

I was finally able to install Joomla. Honestly I dont know what was exactly causing the issue before. So this is what I did since my last post:

1) I fully deleted the dev server's account from WHM.
2) Recreated a new account from WHM with new cpanel access
3) Created database from cpanel
4) Ran Joomla installation on the new site.
5) Thats it.. This time the installation completed.

Again, I still dont know why it worked this time. I did the exact same steps yesterday with the same server configurations. No clue whatsoever and its a mystery. I just hope this doesnt happen again when I release it as a production site in the future.

Just thought of adding it here for the completion of this thread. If anyone else have this problem, go through all the steps that I tried in my first post above before you resolve to this option. Also dont delete accounts from WHM unless you know what you are doing..

I have had the same trouble and am about to give up on installing Joomla 3.3.6 on WAMP 2.5. My system gets stuck on creating the database tables as in the post above. I have tied all of the suggestions found in various posts i.e.
- Changed engine=innodb to engine=mylsam in joomla.sql
- Changed max_execution_time to 3000 in php.ini
- reverted to Jommla version.3.3.0[img][img][/img][/img]
None of these changes have any impact on solving the problem. I never had any problem when I installed Joomla 1.5 a few years back now on WP. I am fairly comfortable in using Joomla but this version 3.3.6 installation is a nightmare. There doesn't seen to be any official Joomla help on this type of installation problem.

Can anybody point me to an online resource that will work to solve this problem?

You have forgotten to create a database user, give the user a password and assign permissions to the database.

I'm not sure that omitting the user details is the issue; that would cause a "cannot connect to database..." error and so it wouldn't attempt to create the tables if it can't connect to the database initially (at least in my experience that's what occurs).

For anyone else reading this thread, check the following:

- As well as creating a user, you have to assign that user to the DB
- Make sure "all priviledges" are checked.

Here is the diagnosic from "Form post assistant". Even I can tell that there is missing configuration items here but wouldn't know how to fix them. I have tried the fixes mentioned from previous forum posts like
(i) Changing max_execution_time from 120 to 3000
(ii) Changing instances of Engine=InnoDB to Mylsam
but still got the system hung up on the database creation page of the install. Please see the screen shot below.

Appreciate any help in sorting this.
