Just tried to upgrade from 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 (Joomla_3.0.2-Stable-Full_Package.zip) via the Extension Manager but this produced the error message: Error:-1 Copy file failed
Is there an alternative method?
I'm using:
Joomla 3.0.1
php 5.3.10
3.0.1 to 3.0.2 error

Re: 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 error
I have just attempted the same procedure using Joomla_3.0.2-Stable-Update_Package.zip
Resulting in the same error message

Re: 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 error
Did you read that 3.x is not ready for production sites and that the bug trackers shows this error?
So why ignore the warnings?
Cheers ;-)

I hadn't as it happens, but ... the message has now been received and understood. Slap on the wrist accepted in the good humour in which it was dispensed.

Who is talking about production site???
Read http://docs.joomla.org/Release_and_support_cycle
The other alternative is to use the Joomlaupdate component in the backend. That is the preferred method to upgrade.
The last alternative I can think off is to take a backup and install it locally. Upgrade it and create a backup. Restore that backup to your production site.
None of these alternatives are going to solve the issue if you have security problems or disc quota problems with your infra.

Alternatives for installation via Extension installer is using the second option. The second option lets you extract and copy the update yourself. Please note that both STS and LTS releases, once they have reached the GA (General Availability) status, are fully functional and ready to be used in production environment.

Re: 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 error
Thank you ... The latter looks good to me, but the resulting page states:
No updates available
You already have the latest Joomla! version, 3.0.1.

Re: 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 error
To use Joomlaupdate in the backend you need to clean cache and find updates. Contrary to what many expect it doesn't do that when requesting the page. You need to do that manually!
