I have successfully downloaded joomla 3.0 using WAMP ON MY WINDOWS PC. I have already started work on my first website. However, I have no idea on how to go about to set up a second website. Tried copying all files in WWW folder into a new folder. Then created a new MySQL database but cannot make it work as I get an error message. Please an someone give me the steps on setting multiple websites locally on WAMP ?

In your description you are not doing it wrong. Maybe you can tell us what went wrong!

After you have made a new database, you have to have the installation folder and run the installation as you did the first time.

You are absolutely right Per Yngve Berg. The source for the new instance shouldn't be taken from www, but should always come from the original distribution set. That zipfile also contains the installation folder, doesn't have a configuration.php and is clean as extensions is concerned. That together allows for proper installation. Not only the first time, also the second time and any time after that!

So I was wrong, you are not installing according to documentation.

Ok what I did is copy the files in WWW which I used on the first website ( after I used them). I will download another set of fresh files to put there then. Thanks you great support community! It makes you feel like you are in good hands even though the software is totally free!
