Installation stopped due to certificate problem

Post by kjell_wa » Fri Jan 18, 2013 9:05 am

I have without problems installed XAMPP and built up the folders. Now I should install Joomla 3.0 and everything just stops. There is a reference to certificate problems in the Joomla program.
I have Windows 7 and IE in my PC.
Does anyone know how to proceed?

I nearly give up on the spot. This solution is for guys that are familiar with the internal programming of a PC. I am not. Do I have to give up using Joomla? It is strange as my PC is using the same programs as miljons of others users.

Maybe you have a second computer with windows beside your mac in that case i suggest building your website on the windows pc with http://www.usbwebserver.net/nl/

As far as I know certificates are used when using HTTPS instead of HTTP. Nothing to do with stacks but how you configured your browser.

Did you try Chrome or Firefox with http://localhost ?
Issue with migrating? Include logs/joomla_update.php in your report!
Blank screen? Verify pagesource for HTML code (javascript error)
Installation failing on populating database? Install with set_time_limit(0)
Document your customizations!

Thanks for your comments!
No problem with http://localhost. Here the XAMPP for Windows pops up as it should.
I have also checked the files many times and the file "joomla16" is in the right spot.
My problem come when I use http://localhost/joomla16 as it is then the certificate alarm pops up.

I have been using both http and https with same result - alarm for not reliable certificate!
Now I have also been using both IE, Firefox and Chrome with the same negative result.

As I am using the same equipment as most users do - PC with Windows 7 - it is difficult to understand why I cannot get joomla to be installed.
