Another installation stuck at step 1
Hi guys,
I have searched and read a great deal of posts regarding this matter and every solution suggested is now tried but still no go. I have edited php.ini, installed new services on the server etc. But the installation only blinks a second and then stays on page one of the configuration.
It is a VPS so I have full control of the server.
PHPinfo http://www.roeds.com/phpinfo.php
Please any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Another installation stuck at step 1
Hi there.
Do you use wampserver or xampp ?
Go into the c:\wampserver\apps\phpmyadmin4.4.14
Make a copy of the file called config.smaple.php and save it as config.inc.php and the follwoing line of code.
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['extension'] = 'mysql';
This should end your error. I hope that you setup my sql server correctly ?

Re: Another installation stuck at step 1
Hi there switch over to wampserver. And first run the mysqli terminimal and the msqli line. And create a config.inc.php first from the config.samples.inc.php.
And joomla should install now 100%

Re: Another installation stuck at step 1
Which was the answer?
I don't use eaccelerator, but I use Xcache, so I tried disabling it, but same thing, stuck on step 1.
Joomla 3.4.3, on Centos 6.4 64-bit, Apache 2.x, nginx, mysql 5.5.
Many many other Joomla sites running on this server, all upgraded to 3.4.3 no problem.

Well this is embarrassing, but I found the problem.
php's session.save_path was set to a non-writeable directory. Changing it to:
fixed the problem and the rest went with no issues as usual. *Whew*.
I will write this in my notes for next time!
