Installation Joomla 3.x on Mamp

Post by aircobra » Thu Feb 04, 2016 3:40 pm

Firstly hi to all.

I am trying to install joomla on mamp 3.0
I downloaded the latest Joomla and extracted it into a folder called test that is in my htdocs.
so folder structure is htdocs/test

When i run localhost/test I get error 500 displayed.

When i run it in Safari I just get a blank screen nothing displayed.

I have tried on 2 different machines and have the sam problem.

I successfully installed it on a virtual machine on a linux box.

I have no hair on my head else I would have pulled it all out by now ;-)

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for reply.

I tried to add the port :8888 and I also tried the 80 port

Both have the same outcome. Blank screen.

I installed Joomla successfully on an older version of MAMP 3.1 on my home machine last night with no problems.

I unfortunately don't have the older package file.

Other than that I am open for ideas.

Thanks

Hi I found a solution or work around.

On the MAMP change version of php to 5.6.10 and after the servers restart run the Joomla installer again...

Hope it helps someone who had sam issues.
