What does this Softaculous option do? www / non-www

Hi,

First thing, I'm not asking about the benefits of www vs non-www, or how to set it up in htaccess.

But can anyone explain what the Softaculous installer www/non-www option does? I can't see that it changes anything in the configuration.php file and I don't think it does anything to the htaccess file either... so, what does it do?

I am not sure but in Joomla you can define the live path in configuration.php... Must be something related to that.
