Joomla causes IP-Blocking at Provider

Post by Martin_Web » Sat Dec 30, 2023 6:37 pm

It feels like I am working with Joomla for 200 years now, but I have never experienced this:

While administrating (actually just updating content and menus), my IP kept being blocked on server- / provider side. Reproducible. When this happens, I can't access the server (I get "500" or just "nothing" or "time out").

Right now, while typing this I can't access it (again!). I'd love to provide exact Joomla (3) version, PHP version, etc, but I can't because I am blocked again. The provider has "released" my IP twice today. In alternative, I need to do a reconnect / IP-refresh on my side to get access again. The provider has limited capacities these days and will investigate more "next year".

Has anyone of you experienced this? What could be the reason?

totally annoyed,
Martin.

1. Security software on the server that doesn't like something that Joomla is doing and associates the action with the visiting IP
or
2. A 3rd party extension that doesn't like something that Joomla is doing and associates the action with the visiting IP

Install a localhost on your pc and use ftp to transfer the files. Also export the database https://docs.joomla.org/Copying_a_Jooml ... s_with_FTP
If it doesn't happen on localhost then it is the server.

https://forumpostassistant.github.io/docs/ (if you can please) someone might recognise a 3rd party extension that exhibits that behaviour?
