Module Assignment

I'm almost ready to launch my website in J3.0.2 but I have one problem (I think it's for all J versions).

I want to assign a module to f.e. the news section. However I don't want it on the frontpage (menu).
What I mean if you have a page with 5 news articles I dont want the module there. However when I click on a newsarticle to go to the individual page of this article I want a module to show.

Would be nice if this is possible.
Using Joomla since 2005.

Did you try to publish the module not on all pages but just on the one you want?
