Off Line question
I have a duplicate of my production site running as a dev site. So that the dev site doesn't get indexed by Google I run the dev site off line per the setting in the Admin. Only problem is that I can't see the dev site. For example when I want to make a change for Content, update a plugin, etc I want to make sure that no negative effects happened or nothing broke first on the dev site before applying those same changes to the Prod site. Any suggestions?

Re: Off Line question
Just protect the dev website using .htpasswd - it's the easiest way to do this and it never gets indexed by Google.

Re: Off Line question
When your site is offline, login with an administrator user to see it.

Thanks. After I posted this message I realized that can be done.

Re: Off Line question
Suspect you used SU instead of administrator. You need someone with Offline Access permission allowed.
By default an administrator doesn't have that permission.

Re: Off Line question
I have the permission as I'm set to one of the admins.

Re: Off Line question
That doesn't make sense, please be more specific:
- You are a Super User.
- You changed the Offline Access permission for administrator to allowed.

Re: Off Line question
Yes, I'm a Super User and when I go to offline site at dev.domain.com I use my login to see the site and dev.domain.com/administrator to get to the admin.
