Catchable fatal error after optimizing for faster load
Hello,
I am almost finished building my first web site and I decided it is time to look at the performance. I read about Yslow and Google's Page Speed and for nearly 8 hours now I am trying to boost those scores as much as I can. Just now I managed to achieve 99% on Page speed and 100% on Yslow. Then I opened up my site and it loaded very fast indeed. So I started checking each and every page and stumbled upon this error for some of them:
Notice: unserialize() [function.unserialize]: Error at offset 702 of 30676 bytes in /home/deltame/public_html/Rainbow_service-DEV/libraries/joomla/cache/controller/callback.php on line 117
Catchable fatal error: Argument 1 passed to RokSprocket_PlatformHelper_Joomla::processItemsForEvents() must be an instance of RokSprocket_ItemCollection, null given, called in /home/deltame/public_html/Rainbow_service-DEV/modules/mod_roksprocket/lib/ModRokSprocket.php on line 37 and defined in /home/deltame/public_html/Rainbow_service-DEV/components/com_roksprocket/lib/RokSprocket/PlatformHelper/Joomla.php on line 92
In attempt to reset the whole caching I purged the whole cache from the back end of Joomla. That messed up my styling big deal, so I replaced the whole cache folder with one that I had previously backed up. Now I can't load my site at all - every page is the same error

I have a backup from before I start optimizing, so it is not fatal, but I'm sure it would be hard to retrace my steps, since I have no prior experience with none of this. Can anything be done to get the site working from here?
Help woudl be much appreciated,
Alex

Re: Catchable fatal error after optimizing for faster load
disable the plugin "scriptmerge"
Than right click on your frontpage and see what you have on line 566
What is your PHP version btw?

Re: Catchable fatal error after optimizing for faster load
Okey, I read your post and opened my site and it was working. My php is 5.3.28. Just a quick question about caching. After I turn the cache on ( in global config and plugin ) my css is cached and when I inspect with chrome I cannot make any changes to it. I need to change the core files, right? So I disable caching and then css is supposed to load from the core, not the cached files. Am I right, because that doesn't really happen. I have currently disabled all caching and it is still loading css from cached files. It's ratter annoying.
Thanks for the response,
Alex

Re. Cleaning caches:
You have to clean caching : Administrator-->System--> clear both catches
Next --> clear Browser Cache completely and reload with CTRL +F5
Next --> Disable System Catching plugin
Next --> Disable Template compression in your template settings
Next --> Disable all caching extensions of 3rd parties

Re: Catchable fatal error after optimizing for faster load
Yea, that is pretty much what I am doing. I even tried setting cache to "no" in global config. Doesn't seem to be working. When I reload the page and inspect it it is still generating css from cached files, not core. An my site looks all messed up, because for some reason the new cached files don't contain bootstrap.css, which is the core file. still unable to make any changes, because cached files override them instantly. Well I am sure you are missing some otherwise it would not load form cache
I cannot say more without looking under the hood, sorry
