Joomla 3 and Explorer 9

Post by joomnewbie79 » Wed Oct 22, 2014 8:52 am

Hi,
I have this Joomla 3 site with HTML5 videos, it works fine on most PC browsers and mobile devices, but it crashes in Explorer 9. I searched for more information on Google, and I found out it's likely to be a JQuery-MooTools conflict. I tried out an extension, MooTools Enabler/Disabler, but does nothing even if I disable MooTools. Then I tried JQuery Easy, it requires me to specify the Joomla JQuery-UI version, I searched for the jquery.min file in my Joomla directory and typed the path in the plugin settings, but no way, I'm still getting a 'Joomla UI version not found' message, and of course I can't get rid of the conflict. Please help. Should you need any links, I can answer by PM. Thank you.

Extension conflict ? Does it only crash when you are on a page with that extension ?

I guess it crashes whenever there are HTML5 videos, even if I didn't try with text-only sites.

In jquery easy you can disable mootools (it shouldnt usually be present anyway in recent joomla versions), and tell it to load both jquery and jquery ui if you need both from a cdn that way you can be sure they will both be loaded (sounds like you have the path wrong that you have typed).
Try without noconflict first, then with it if you still have problems.
Check your video plugin isnt also loading a different version of jquery or jquery ui.
