remember me tickbox missing session

on J3.6.2 when the users 'remember me' log in tickbox is set, for permanant login, there is no corresponding/correct username entry saved in the database session list when the user goes on site later.

I think this is on github as an issue, wondering if anyone's found a fix ?

As i understand it, when remember me is ticked, a cookie on the users computer is used to create login, but i assume its not also creating a saved session in the sessions list.

AS happens, i find the users session value in a bit of my own code, it fails to find one when remember me is ticked, so that logically supports that there is a session missing.
