Joomla 3 crashing Topic is solved

I have about 10 Joomla v.3.10.12 sites on 2 servers. My own site crashed on or before Nov 10, 2023. Another one crashed yesterday. Recaptcha failed on v.3 sites Nov. 10. I've been replacing it with hCaptcha.
The cpanels still function. File manager shows all files present.

The host pulled this out of the error log for me:
[20-Nov-2023 13:59:09 UTC] PHP Warning: session_start(): Failed to read session data: user (path: /opt/alt/php82/var/lib/php/session) in /home/covenant/public_html/shop/libraries/joomla/session/handler/native.php on line 260

I don't know what to do with that. PHP setting is 8.2 for domain.

Has this happened to other sites? Is there any way to fix it?

If I am posting to the wrong section of the forum please let me know.

Did you or your hosting company change the PHP version on the server?

Regarding reCaptcha: Google has changed something with reCaptcha which causes issues with sites that use Mootools (old JavaScript library).

PHP is set for 8.2.

I've been changing my sites from reCaptcha to hCaptcha.

Joomla 3.10.12 and older Joomla extensions are not compatible with PHP 8.2.
Those need PHP 8.0 (and if you are lucky the might work on PHP 8.1)

.It was the PHP setting. One site opened OK and admin gave me the message to raise the PHP version. I set it at 8.2 and the site disappeared. Set it at 8.1 and it came back. Changed it to 8.1 on the first site that went down and it reappeared. Will check all sites now and also catch up with installing hcaptcha on them all.
