Hello Team,

I've brought a a new VPS for my Joomla sites. I request you all to add your expert advise to enhance the site performance, security and more.

I've already installed JCH Pro with full optimization settings and have achieved the 1.4 seconds of load time with 94% score. I am sure there is more to do to enhance the user experience on our Joomla.

Please add your valuable inputs.

Securing PHP is a very long topic many people disagree about due to competing solutions, and frankly also some legitimate reasons, such as each method being best for a few of the many widely varying server profiles. The smartest approach is to become intimate with PHP's configuration options:

...and gobble up as much of the fundamentals of web app security as you can fit. You're going to have to treat it like an exercise regimen, you're not going to get overnight results from a lot of this stuff because it's not checklists, it's an education about how to survey the field and make security decisions.

Carefully tuned JCH Pro edition and guess what, the site loads under 1 second time. Here are the screenshots of Stats from Pingdom, GTMetrix and Google Page Insight respectively:

Here is a quick tip from me.

Before going in for the steps below, I highly recommend you to take a full backup of your Joomla Site.

1. Buy and install JCH Pro editionhttp://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... h-optimize. The free edition is good, but pro is far beyond good.
2. Get inside the plugin under your admin page
3. Order the plugin automatically by clicking "Order Plugin button"
4. Click on "Optimum button" under Automatic settings.
5. Enable Sprite Generator under Sprite Generator Tab
6. Under Optimize Images Tab, click the "Optimize Images" button and wait until the image optimization is complete.

In most cases, this should do the wonders, but in case, you face difficulty or any of the site elements are behaving unusual, I recommend you to disable this plugin and enable it back with minimum settings. And now enable each option and save, then test the site and see if the unusual behavior is continued. This way you will be able to locate the real culprit and accordingly decide whether to keep it on or turn it off.
